Does UVSS replace manual vehicle inspection?

SecurOS® UVSS significantly reduces the need for manual inspections by automating the undercarriage scanning process. It provides consistent, high-resolution imaging and AI-assisted anomaly detection, helping security personnel inspect vehicles faster and more accurately than traditional mirror-based methods. However, manual inspection procedures can still complement the system depending on the security protocol and threat level.

Can the system scan vehicles without stopping?

Yes. SecurOS® UVSS supports drive-through inspections, allowing vehicles to be scanned while moving over the system without stopping. The platform can inspect vehicles at speeds up to approximately 10 mph (15 km/h), improving checkpoint throughput and reducing traffic congestion.

Can UVSS integrate with LPR and access control?

Yes. SecurOS® UVSS integrates directly with SecurOS Auto and SecurOS Motus for real-time license plate recognition (LPR/ANPR). It also supports interoperability with third-party security systems, including access control platforms, barriers, traffic systems, and other security infrastructure through embedded APIs.

Does UVSS support historical comparison?

Yes. The system stores reference undercarriage images together with recognized license plate data, enabling operators to compare current scans against historical vehicle records. This helps detect suspicious modifications, tampering, or anomalies over time.

Can it be used at multiple checkpoints?

Operators can monitor inspections remotely and manage multiple lanes or facilities through the SecurOS ecosystem. Is there a mobile version?

Yes. UVSS technology is available in portable and mobile configurations designed for temporary checkpoints, event security, military operations, border control, and remote deployments. These systems can be rapidly deployed without permanent infrastructure requirements.

What records are stored for audit and investigation?

SecurOS® UVSS stores:
